Syracuse council tries again to rein in police watchdog amid staff concerns about leader

Syracuse, N.Y. — Following internal staff complaints about the workplace, the Syracuse Common Council is trying again to gain firing power over the head of the city’s police watchdog agency.
A proposed amendment introduces language that would allow the council to fire the Citizen Review Board administrator for “creating a hostile work environment,” among other things.
